Cats love to groom themselves, part of this routine includes flossing their teeth. Notice how your cats will seek out fibrous things (Spider Plants, Plastic Bags) to stimulate this need. Wheat and Oat Grass are much easier on their systems than are Spider Plants and Plastic Bags :) -
Distracts from Other Plants
Many plants are harmful to cats including:
Daffodils, Eggplant, Tomato Leaves, Tiger Lilies,
Mistletoe, Paprika, Potato Plants, Fig Plants,
Chrysanthemum, Bulb Plants, Rhododendron,
and Onion Plants.
Having cat grass available provides a positive alternative to these harmful plants !

- Fill a pot with 3-4 inches of potting soil
- Sow with enough seeds to cover the surface of the soil, but not so much that the seeds overlap
- Add just enough soil to completely cover the seeds
- Place somewhere in your house that receives at least a couple hours of daylight each day
- Water thoroughly
- Water again every couple of days
- Grass will sprout in 3-4 days
- Grass will reach maximum height about 8 days after planting
- Trim grass with scissors when it starts to droop, this will promote new growth
- Grass will naturally die-out after about 5-6 weeks, so if you want to have a constant supply of grass, plant a new batch on the same day of every month !
