Stress and anxiety reduction:

The oil in catnip, nepetalactone, can have a calming effect, making it a useful tool for reducing stress and anxiety in cats.

Encourages exercise:

The stimulating effect of catnip can get cats moving, which is important for maintaining a healthy weight, especially for older or less active cats.

Aids in digestion:

When ingested, catnip can have a mellowing effect that may help alleviate gastrointestinal discomfort and stimulate appetite.

Pest repellent:

Catnip contains nepetalactone, which has been found to help repel mosquitoes, making it a natural insect repellent for your cat.

Can be used for training:

You can use catnip as a positive reinforcement reward to encourage good behavior, such as coming when called or staying still for claw clipping.

Mental and physical stimulation:

Catnip can provide mental enrichment by capturing a cat's interest and can encourage more active or playful behavior. This is especially helpful for indoor cats who may become bored or lethargic.
